To strengthen the cooperation between Zhoushan City and Singapore, the 2017 China Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area Free Trade Zone and Maritime Industry Promotion Conference was successfully held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre Singapore, Level 3, on 25 April 2017.
The event was jointly organized by SCFA, the Management Committee of Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area and Zhoushan City Municipal People's Government. Mr Wang Jiarong, the Consul General and Counsellor of Chinese Embassy in Singapore, Mr Law Chung Ming, Group Director of Transport and Logistics Group, IE Singapore, Professor Phua Koo Khoo, President of SCFA, and Mr Xu Xiaoyue, the deputy mayor of the People's Government of Zhoushan City attended the Conference and gave speeches respectively.
The members of the Zhoushan delegation from relevant departments and the main important shipping enterprises in Zhoushan also participated in this promotion conference and gave brief introductions to the potential and future planning of the New Area Free Trade Zone and certain new policies implied by the government to the maritime industry.
SCFA Vice President Ung Gim Sei, Honorary Treasurer Ng Swan Meen, Management Committee members Loh Weng Kee, Lee Sze Shyan, Hoon Tai Meng, Li Yeming, Wang Shouzhi and Fang Ying attended the Conference. The event also invited guests and friends from both China and Singapore, ranging from areas such as port logistics, maritime industry, oil trade, international finance, news media, and other business representatives, representatives of the association and the main chamber of commerce and well-known business executives in Singapore.
