The China Film Festival 2016, jointly organized by SCFA, the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Singapore and the NUS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), was successfully held from 7th to 12th October 2016, at NUS Shaw Foundation Alumni House.
The Film Festival kicked off in the evening of 7th October. The Charge d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, Mr Fang Xinwen, SCFA President, Prof Phua Kok Khoo, and Director of OAR, Mr Bernard Toh delivered speeches at the Opening Night.
More than 250 participants including Cultural Counselor of Chinese Embassy, Mr Xiao Jianghua, SCFA Vice-Presidents, Mr Ung Gim Sei, Mr Desmond Ong, and about 50 committee members and members attended the Opening Night. The Film Festival featured Mr Six on the Opening Night, following with the Wolf Totem, Only You and Ballet in the Flames of War from 10 to 12 October. The Film Festival received well responses and attracted more than 1170 audiences.
Sponsored by the Xiamen Airlines, a Business Class return air ticket from Singapore to China was given out at the Lucky Draw each night.
