第二届新加坡"新移民杰出贡献奖"颁奖典礼

我会与新加坡华源会、陈嘉庚国际学会主办的第二届新加坡"新移民杰出贡献奖"颁奖典礼于2014年2月22日晚假滨海湾金沙酒店举行，教育部兼通讯及新闻部政务部长沈颖应邀主持颁奖礼。
本届得奖者中，新加坡国立大学物理系主任冯元平教授和电子与电脑工程系的连勇教授获得"杨振宁新移民杰出科技奖"。新移民杰出贡献奖也首次颁发给非原籍中国移民，来自英国威尔士的著名音乐家沃森。另一名杰出贡献奖的得奖者是在教育领域有突出表现的顾建平。此外，音乐家吴杰获得"优秀贡献奖"。新加坡淡米尔协会会长克里斯南和新加坡报业控股华文报集团文化产业部副总裁林焕章则获得"新移民之友"奖。

The 2nd New Immigrant Outstanding Contributions Award Presentation Ceremony

SCFA, Hua Yuan General Association of New Immigrants from China and Tan Kah Kee Foundation jointly organised the 2nd New Immigrant Outstanding Contributions Award Presentation Ceremony. It was held on 22 February 2014, at Hotel Marina Bay Sands. Ms Sim Ann, Minister of State for Education and Communications and Information was the Guest-of-Honour for the evening.
Prof Feng Yuan Ping, Head, Department of Physics, NUS Faculty of Science, and Prof Lian Yong, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NUS Faculty of Engineering received the "CN Yang New Immigrant Outstanding Contributions in Technology Award". This year's award nomination was opened to new immigrants of all races, regardless of countries of origin. Renowned British composer Mr Eric Watson from Wales became the first non-Chinese to win the Award. Another awardee was Gu Jianping, who is very committed in improving Chinese language education in Singapore. Musician Wu Jie was awarded the "Recognition Award". "Friends of Immigrants Awards" went to Mr Krishnasamy Vithalingam, President, Singai Tamil Sangam and Mr Lim Huan Chiang, Vice President, Cultural Industry Promotion, SPH's Chinese Newspapers Division.
